Course Overview
This course is intended for people who have had no experience in the past 3 years of Moving and Handling based on the Neuromuscular Approach to Human Movement (NMAHM)®. It is also the Core Module for people wishing to develop their skills in specific areas. See the Course Pathways for more details.
Aims:
- To enable participant awareness of the causes of musculoskeletal injury
- To enable the participant to gain knowledge/skills associated with client moving/movement
- To enable participants to implement safer practise in the workplace
- To offer participants opportunities to assess their own health and well-being through analysis of their habitual movement pattern
Objectives:
- Participants will gain skills/knowledge to allow then to assess individual/personal risks within movement situations
- Participants will be aware of Condemned/Controversial Practices
- Participants will be aware of Laws & Regulations relating to Moving & Handling
- Participants will develop Moving & Handling Problem Solving skills
